Aerial as a Taxi Network must meet the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) (Minimum Service Standards - Taxi Network) Approval 2007 (No 1). The MSS sets out the minimum requirements in relation to the operation of a taxi network.
Part of the MSS is the requirement for a taxi network to submit to the Road Transport Authority, detailed reports, including taxi waiting time reports. These reports are produced according to the specific MSS waiting time performance standards as set by the Authority.
We have committed to being open and transparent about our performance against the government's service standards so that our customers and the community can see how we are working to meet their needs.
Throughout July and August, close to 200,000 taxi hirings were completed, and Canberra Elite Taxis exceeded all performance standards required.
Just on 1000 Wheelchair Taxi hirings were conducted throughout the period. The network exceeded all bar one requirement in the Peak period (this being the July requirement of a maximum waiting time of no more than 30 minutes where we achieved 92.53% against a 95% standard).
In the periods outside of peak, the network has achieved figures just below (between 3% & 9%) the required performance standards. There is room for improvement for the Wheelchair taxis fleet, and we are happy to announce that a further 4 wheelchair vehicles are affiliated with the Canberra Elite fleet, bring WATs to a total of 8. Aerial remains committed to working with the Canberra Community to improve this service.
